History

On June 13, 2000, Holy Heart Christian Academy opened its doors to 120 students in preschool and elementary for the school year 2000-2001.   About 80 students came from Galang Medical Center College. Inc. which decided to cease operating its Preschool and Grade School Departments that year.

Carlos P. Camacho Jr., a businessman and founder of the school, assumed the office of the president.  Mr. Camacho and the Board of Trustees named the school Holy Heart Christian Academy ("HHCA") to convey its Christian based education. Ms. Corazon R. Lacar was appointed as the first principal of the school.  Mrs. Aurora Big-asan was elected as the first president of the HHCA Parent-Teacher Association.

On March 28, 2001, HHCA held its First Commencement Exercises and Awarding Rites for its Pre-Elementary and Elementary School Departments. HHCA graduated 20 students at Pope Pius XII Center Auditorium located at the United Nations Avenue, Ermita, Manila. Kathryn Charmaine R. Arquiza was HHCA's first grade school valedictorian.

In the School Year 2002-2003, HHCA opened its High School Department. When the enrollment increased, the school administration decided to transfer the High School Department to its current location at 1957 Juan Luna Street Pritil, Tondo Manila. 

On March 30, 2005, the school held its first Commencement Exercises and Awarding Rites for its first batch of High School graduating class at the San Lazaro Amphitheater, DOH Complex, Avenida Rizal, Manila.  Chiara Mei S. A. Liwanag was HHCA's first High School valedictorian. HHCA's annual commencement exercises have since been held at the UST College of Education Auditorium, España, Manila.

The commitment, dedication, and combined efforts of the HHCA administration, faculty, and staff were rewarded by The Department of Education. The Department of Education granted the Government Recognition of the Nursery Kindergarten Courses and Complete Elementary Course to HHCA effective with the School Year 2003-2004. Another Government Recognition was granted by the Department of Education to HHCA for the Complete Secondary Course effective with the School Year 2006-2007.

Today, HHCA continues to thrive in the surrounding community and getting due recognition through its programs and activities. The administration believes that HHCA came to being out of its quest for excellence in education. Therefore, it is firmly committed to pursuing this mission, with the help of the Almighty God.
